1. wild & mild

wild (a.) excited in nature or behavior 狂野的
: He felt a wild rage and acted on impulse.
(他在狂怒的影響下衝動行事)

mild (a.) gentle in nature or behavior 溫馴的
: They had a mild disagreement.
(他們稍微不同意彼此的意見)

2. feast & fast

feast (v.) to eat large amounts of food 大吃
: The people feasted for three days in celebration of the royal wedding.
(為了慶祝皇室婚禮,百姓饗宴了三天)

fast (v.) to eat no food for a period of time 禁食

英文單字無窮無盡,容易混淆的單字也是不勝枚舉。像這樣按照主題性把一對一對的單字介紹出來也有個危險是讓大家更容易混淆。為了避免這個狀況,可以自己刻意去做兩個字之間的分別。比如說,discreet 跟 discrete,一個是不明顯一個是明顯分開,那 ete 的 t 把兩個 e 分開的 “discrete" 就是「明顯分開」;或是,emigrate 跟 immigrate,一個是出去一個是進來,那 e 開頭的就代表 exit 所以 “emigrate" 就是「從…移民」。有這樣刻意做兩個字的分別,下次看到易混淆的字就不會容易被騙啦
